Known to many as, quite literally, one of the happiest places in San Francisco, a Bayshore Boulevard Happy Donuts played host to a very unhappy incident in the wee hours of the morning Monday.

The owner of the noted donut store was shot by someone who entered the premises at 2600 Bayshore Boulevard. According to SF Appeal, the incident happened at around 3 am. NBC Bay Area News reports that the gunman was stabbed before running away.

The shooter currently at large. And the owner of the shop is expected to survive.

In 2011, 7x7 declared Happy Donuts' glazed donut as the best glazed donut in all of San Francisco.
