President Obama is landing at SFO early this evening and heading straight to Pacific Heights for hob-nobbing with liberal-leaning billionaires. First off is a cocktail party at the home of environmentalist and former hedge fund manager Tom Steyer and Kat Taylor. (Steyer, some of you may recall, gave a speech at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.) Then comes a dinner at the Getty mansion, with Ann and Gordon.

Both events will raise funds for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

And lest you think that there's nothing but love for Barack here in S.F., his visit will, as per usual, be protested by someone. Tonight there's a group planning to rally in Alta Plaza Park at 5 p.m. and march to the Getty mansion in order to protest the Keystone XL oil pipeline, which the President has not yet expressed his approval of. (It's a 1,700-mile project that would move 800,000 barrels of crude oil a day from Alberta, Canada to Texas. For background, read this.)

Then tomorrow, the President heads to Atherton for a couple of fundraisers. As Bay City News reports:

The first will be a $32,000-a-head brunch at the home of Liz Simons and Mark Heising. The president will then visit the home of Marcia and John Goldman. The cheapest tickets to that event cost $1,000.

Oh, and some oil pipelines protesters will greet those events as well.
