Students and faculty received an alert from City College San Francisco regarding an attempted sexual assault that occurred inside a shower stall at the school's Wellness Center. The incident happened around noon on Saturday, March 9.

A male suspect apparently entered the woman's locker room and hid himself inside one of the private shower stalls at the Wellness Center (50 Phelan Avene). According to City College, "Our student victim was in another stall when the suspect climbed underneath and grabbed the victim. The suspect attempted to cover the victim's mouth in an effort to stop the victim from screaming, which was unsuccessful. The victim screamed and struggled with the suspect, who then fled the area."

SFist spoke with CCSF Project Survive's Leslie Simon who told us, "she fought back really hard and was able to avoid being assaulted."

The suspect has been described as a male black, 25-30 years old, 5'11" - 6', 180 lbs, with "black hair and brown complexion." The suspect's clothing is described as dark short pants and black tennis shoes. According to the alert, the suspect was "wearing a towel around his head" at the time of the attack.

Anyone with any information should contact the CCSF Police Department 415-239-3200.
