In Pleasanton, California a former preschool teacher at the Centrepointe Christian Preschool is being investigated for allegedly binding a two-year-old girl in masking tape and making her sit on a cot while she took photos with her cellphone — all because the little girl refused to cooperate with nap time.

The incident was reported to police by one of the girl's parents on March 4th, but actually occurred several months prior. According to a statement from the church, no one knew about the incident until the teacher showed photos of the tied-up tot to two other employees during a social gathering earlier this month. One of the two other teachers she flashed her phone to happened to be the girl's mother.

Following the police report, an official complaint was filed with the Department of Social Services, but this is the preschool's fifth violation with their licensing agency in the past six months. They have two others for leaving out bottles of bleach and two for improper supervision of children.

Pastor Mike Barris, of the Centrepointe Church offered some deep regrets saying he was "appalled and shocked" that such an incident could possibly take place. The school will be closed until March 20th while Pleasanton Police conduct their investigation. For their part, Church Elders explained that no current employees were involved in the incident and corrective action has been taken after every violation.
