Oakland Mayor Jean Quan snaps a shot a Gold Rush-era jewelry box after a news conference announcing its recovery at the Oakland Museum of California. The rare artifact, valued at more than $800,000, was swiped from the museum in January. The gorgeous box depicts images of early California history. It was originally a wedding anniversary gift from a San Francisco pioneer to his wife way back in the 1800s.
