The dead body discovered yesterday near Pier 48 and McCovey Cove has been identified as 57-year-old David Biddle.
No obvious signs of trauma could be seen by the medical examiner's office, and the cause of death remains unclear. They have said the body appears to have been in the water "for quite some time." Both homicide and suicide remain possibilities.
