An undercover OPD officer was shot in the arm last night in an incident in East Oakland near Seminary Avenue and 17th Street. Police arrested two men in connection with the shooting but they don't yet know if they've caught the shooter, and they're searching for two or three other men involved.

Both suspects are described as gang members, and it's unclear whether they knew the victim was an undercover cop at the time of the shooting. They have not yet been charged.

During the lengthy investigation, many residents in the neighborhood east of the Coliseum were prevented from returning to their homes.
