Say it ain't so, Romo. Giants superstar, the man near and dear to all of our hearts, Sergio Romo was detained at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas after a dustup on New Year's Day. The World Series champ was handcuffed and held for a brief period of time.

The Chronicle has more:

"It appears (Romo) may have been arguing with someone," [Officer Jose Hernandez] said. He said he had no further details, including the identity of the person Romo was arguing with.

Officers briefly detained Romo outside the checkpoint and cited him for "violating airport rules," Hernandez said. He would not elaborate on what rules Romo allegedly broke. After a short time, Romo was released and allowed to continue on his way, Hernandez said.

Romo will have to appear in court in the coming weeks.
