On Saturday morning, a three-alarm fire tore through a building at Capp and 23rd Street. The fire displaced several residents, but luckily no one was injured. The fire, put out later in the afternoon, has already promoted a donation page for the people who lost clothing and other items during the flare up.

A couple of days later, a two-alarm fire that broke out in the city's Excelsior District that injured two. When firefighters arrived in the 100 block of Athens Street on Monday, they found "they found a busted gas line on the sidewalk and flames shooting up ten to 15 feet high." Two people were sent to the hospital with smoke inhalation issues and one resident was displaced.

No word yet as to what started either fire.
