Early this morning around 12:30 a.m. a cyclist and a street sweeper crashed into each other near Sixth and Brannan Streets in SoMa. According to police, the cyclist got trapped under the scrubby, bristly vehicle and couldn't get out until fire rescue crews arrived to help extract him.

No word yet on just how the cyclist and the street sweeper managed to collide, but Bay City News reports the bike rider was taken to S.F. General by ambulance and that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
