Well, it's too late now. Anyway, just one day after lottery announced that winners in Arizona and Missouri nabbed a cool $580 million Powerball jackpot, California will join the lottery come 2013.
Sacto Bee reports: "The California State Lottery Commission voted unanimously today to approve new regulations allowing the state to participate in the Powerball game, which is run by the Multi-State Lottery Association. Californians should be able to play Powerball by April 8, 2013, said lottery commission spokesman Russ Lopez."
This means you can not win jackpots with the SuperLotto Plus and Mega Millions, both of which have seen a decrease in sales. Joining Powerball will net the Golden State an estimated $90 million to $120 million a year.
