Less than a week after Sheriff's deputy Phil Tong was arrested for robbing a Richmond District Bank of America, the Chronicle has found yet another deputy facing criminal charges. 36-year-old deputy Manconia Tamika Green has been charged with six charges for an incident in which she allegedly forced her way into a man's home and threatened him with a pistol.
The incident occurred early last month on October 3rd, while Green was off duty. According to police, Green and two others entered the home of a 55-year-old man on San Bruno Avenue following an argument over some work the man was hired to do for Green's sister. Officers arriving at the scene arrested Green on suspicion of misdemeanor brandishing a weapon and felony conspiracy and making criminal threats. One of Green's compatriots was also charged with the two felony charges and the third person — Green's sister — was released with no charges.
Green is currently out on $60,000 bail, and her attorney says she never actually brandished her firearm. According to her representation, Green only identified herself as a deputy in hopes of "calming things down" and the other party "tried to sic a vicious dog and hit her with a golf club."
As a deputy Sheriff, Green has a right to carry a weapon while off duty. Green has been relegated to desk work while she awaits her next court date on December 4th.
