By now you are all aware of Hurricane Sandy's tacky devastation. New York City and New Jersey were pummeled black and blue. But did you know that bars in the Tri-State area were also hit hard? True. And that's unacceptable because, more or less, watering holes are like churches for most of us... only vastly more important. So on Sunday, November 18th, the Bay Area chapter of the United States Bartenders' Guild will wrangle together more than a dozen of the Bay Area's top bartenders for a much-needed fundraiser supporting the USBG's efforts to clean up bars damaged by Sandy's wrath.

Next Sunday, from 4-8 p.m., people -- kindhearted ilk just like you! -- will gather at Local Edition, one of the city's newest and undergroundiest (literally) bars, to chip in for a good cause while getting toasty on cocktails prepared by some of the city's greatest cocktail-makers.

Your SFist Editor Brock Keeling [ed. note: "Hey, that's me!"] will be there to help Chef Josh Oakley (of Tango and Stache) serve you Oakley's Wild Turkey-braised tacos and other Coney Island-inspired fare. (Please stop by to say hi and/or throw heavy objects at our heads!)

Tickets cost just $25 and can be purchased at the door or here. Plus, all the expert cocktails are just $5 each. Which is cheap. Very cheap. So be there.
