Several separate shootings occurred in Oakland within a seven-hour span on Sunday night. Out of those bouts of gunfire, three were wounded and one was killed. "The fatal shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue," reports Oakland Tribune. "A 27-year-old man, whose name was not released, was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Highland Hospital where he died at 11:58 p.m."
Other non-fatal shootings rattled the embattled town. Said shootings went down in the 1000 block of 72nd Avenue, the 2600 block of Rawson Street near Maxwell Park, and the 8700 block of Hillside Street.
Sunday night's gunfire comes on the heels of Operation Ceasefire, wherein local clergy members, community leaders, and the OPD gathered a group of 20 gang members and violent offenders to to take part on a truce.
No arrests have been made.
