Hunter Pence got to work early during game three of the World Series in Detroit. Pence stole second base and another free Doritos taco for America off of a walk to first base. Gregor Blanco would send Pence home to open up a 1-0 game in the second inning. Brandon Crawford would score Blanco on a two-out single and by the end of game three, the Tigers would be scoreless for a total of 18 innings.

Detroit had a shot at breaking Ryan Vogelsong when they loaded the bases in the fifth with only one out. The average heart rate of sports bar patrons around San Francisco went up as they held their breath through two outs. With Lincecum warming up, Vogelsong struck out Quintin Berry and held on to close out the inning on Miguel Cabrera's fly to shortstop. At least one Detroit sports writer called the inning, "one of the most disheartening at-bats of the series."

Top of the sixth. Hunter Pence's crazy legs cannot be contained to the batter's box. Despite two outs already on the board, Pence scrambled to first as Prince Fielder extended his Embarrassing Game streak to two in a row.

Lincecum takes over in the sixth to finish up the 15th scoreless inning for the Detroit Tigers.

Top of the eighth, Sandoval knocks one just short of the back wall of Comerica Park, putting him up on second. Buster Posey, who hasn't been doing so much in this World Series, but we can't help but love him anyway, struck out. Facing two outs and the prospect of leaving a big cuddly panda bear stranded on second base, Pence swung one out to left, but couldn't beat the throw to first.

Bottom of their eighth, Brandon Crawford makes the first easy out. Joe Buck, probably trying to force a longer series for his bosses up in the network's skybox, jinxed it for Crawford by pointing out the shortstop had been having an impressive error-less streak. With Joe Buck's annoying voice burning his ears, Crawford bobbled the next play to first that would have closed out the inning. Lincecum caught Andy Dirks swinging to work the Giants out of the error and keep the Tigers scoreless.

Top of the ninth, one out. Sanchez, in as designated hitter in the American League park, couldn't get anything working. Gregor Blanco strikes out and has a few words with the umpire on his way to the dugout.

Bottom of the ninth, 2012 Bearded Closer Sergio Romo takes the mound with a hungry look in his eye:

Blanco gets his out back with an impressive effort running down a ball deep to the warning track in left field. Second out was a fly to Pagan in left-center. Two outs and no Tigers on base, Omar Infante stretches a two-strike count with a couple foul balls. After a little chat with Posey, Infante whiffs the third strike.

With the shutout, the Giants could close out the Championship in Comerica Park tomorrow. Matt Cain starts game four. First pitch at 5 p.m. PST.
