Uptown Almanac posted some disturbing news this morning: they've received a couple of reports that a man was "stripped naked" and "executed" at 26th and Treat. yesterday afternoon around 4 p.m. (A bystander captured the photo above, which appears to be of the victim.) Though 18 hours have passed since the shooting, the only news they've found on the incident is a brief write-up from ABC, which reports that the gunman ran off after opening fire. It's a pretty horrifying crime, particularly considering that it transpired in broad daylight.

We're in contact with SFPD about the incident and will update as we learn more.

Update: According to SFPD, there is no indication yet that this man was executed. SFPD Officer Albie Esparza tells SFist, "Medics took his clothes off," which would indicate why the still unidentified victim was in a state of undress. Also, SFPD is "unable to determine if it was gang-related," but they are asking for community to come forward with any information. Tips can be directed to the SFPD anonymous hotline at 415-575-4444 .
