Last Wednesday, Oakland A's Brandon McCarthy was hit on the head with a ball that, if you saw it, looked like one of the most frightening moments in baseball. Although he waked off the field, reports said that McCarthy suffered a 'life-threatening" injury. However, after some surgery and rest, he's still alive and walking around San Francisco with vim and vigor. So much so, in fact, that his wife, Amanda McCarthy, tweeted this pic of her husband and his massive scar.

In fact, Amanda seems to have used humor to guide her through what we can only imagine is a trying time for her and her husband.
