Touting themselves as "the best BBQ this side of the San Fernando Valley," The Bear Pit recently made this little advertisement for themselves, complete with a rapping lady and the phrase, "If you want some effin' barbecue, you know where to stop." And no, they're not talking about gay bears.
The place began as a BBQ shack in the 1940s started by a guy named Baier, and grew into a full-fledged restaurant as the Valley developed by the 1960s. And now it's one of those local landmarks that advertises on late-night television.
The video's making the rounds, and with good reason. Why do no Bay Area restaurants make ads like this? If you want to try the Bear Pit when you're down in SoCal, it's at 10825 Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills.
