High-Speed Chase From Vallejo to Oakland Ends in Crash, Two Arrests

High-Speed Chase From Vallejo to Oakland Ends in Crash, Two Arrests

A car containing a burglary suspect or suspects took off at high speeds this afternoon on I-780 in Vallejo, ultimately crashing near Oakland's Rockridge district on Highway 24, and causing an elementary school near there to go on lockdown for a brief period just after noon. Three suspects fled the scene of the crash on foot, but only two were arrested, and it's unclear if one was the driver.

The chase led Vallejo police and officers from other agencies on a high-speed chase that took them across the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, and from 680 to 24, through the Caldecott Tunnel. It was when the suspect vehicle tried to make a sharp turn onto the Highway 13 on-ramp that the car almost collided with another vehicle, veered off the roadway, and crashed. Exciting stuff!

We'll update you if we learn more.
