Uniqlo, the beloved Japanese clothing chain that will be making its widely anticipated entry in to the West Coast market this Fall, has opened a temporary home just a few blocks away to placate eager shoppers looking for something to round out their fall wardrobe. The store flung open the doors on their temporary Post Street space this morning and will gladly take your money until the full store opens on Powell Street in late September.
In addition to a slightly pared-down selection that should help local shoppers start weening themselves off of American Apparel t-shirts, the mini version will also preview the forthcoming flagship's sure to be impressive interior design. We're told that means there will be a spinning chandelier made of flatscreen TVs and additional communal spaces for social events that will eventually include talks on fashion, art, design and hopefully some booze in there too.
Update: A rep for the store writes in to let us know that the pop up will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., although in a tweet UniqloUSA has also said 10 - 8 p.m:
