Gunfire broke out near on Wednesday night near a vigil for slain 15-year-old Hadari Askari. Police have not evidence yet that the shooting was related to Askari, but it is yet another sign of a spike in violence for the battered East Bay town.
"Wednesday's shooting happened about 7:23 p.m. in the 6800 block of Leona Creek Drive," reports Oakland Tribune. "A car apparently not involved in the shooting was hit by gunfire and numerous shell casings were recovered, police said, but so far no victims have been found."
No arrests have been made in either case.
