Violence in Oakland escalated after a particularly brutal weekend. Three men were shot during separate incidents on Monday night in different parts of East Oakland. At around 12:10 a.m. this morning, "three men confronted a man in the 2400 block of 14th Avenue and attempted to rob him." One of the suspects shot the man, who was fortunate enough to reach a nearby home for help.

At around 9 p.m., according to reports, "a gunman tried to rob two men in the 10700 block of MacArthur Boulevard," but when said mugger couldn't get anything from the men, "he began shooting at them, hitting them both."

Police suspect that the two incidents are not related. Oh, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information should call Oakland police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
