Antonio Roberson, 29, is being held in connection with yesterday's crash and subsequent shooting on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge, near the S-curve. The incident happened around 2 a.m., when a care being driven by Roberson crashed at high speed just east of Treasure Island. An Australian woman, aged 26, was also in the car, and both were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries yesterday. Roberson was expected to be booked on DUI and weapons charges upon his discharge from the hospital, and he was already on parole for false imprisonment for the purpose of human trafficking. That's nice.
Police are still not releasing information about who was shot at, who did the shooting, or what the motive for the shooting may have been, but Roberson sounds like the alleged shooter because of the weapons charge detail.
The investigation into the shooting closed several eastbound lanes yesterday morning, causing a traffic backup that cleared after 10 a.m.
