[UPDATE BELOW] After this morning's fire in West Oakland crippled your BART commute, the transit agency says that they plan on restoring service at around 4 p.m. today. Hopefully. "Meanwhile, nearly two dozen buses from four East Bay transit agencies were helping the afternoon commute by supplementing AC Transit's runs between the temporary Transbay Terminal at Beale and Howard streets in San Francisco' South of Market and the MacArthur BART Station in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. Fares are not being collected in an effort to speed boarding," notes the Chronicle.

Although they've announced a 4 p.m. time, they cannot guarantee anything at this point. Please be advised.

Update: Service has been restored!
