A man was shot at 16th and Albion Friday night, and he sustained fatal injuries as a result. No suspects have been identified despite the fact that this part of the Mission would have been hopping with witnesses at 11:30 p.m. on a Friday.

Anyone who may have seen something is asked to call 415-575-4444 or text and anonymous tip to TIP411.

Update: Uptown Almanac describes witnesses outside Kilowatt who saw a "savage beating" preceding the shooting, which occurred outside Double Dutch, and the victim's friend lay on top of him crying after the incident. So yes, there were witnesses. Mission Local says the victim was 24 years old.

Update 2: A friend of the family of the victim left a comment on Mission Local identifying the victim as Lorenzo Jimenez, saying that he is being removed from life support today. Along with the death of Bay to Breakers beating victim Stephen Martin, this would be San Francisco's 29th homicide of the year.

Update 3: Bay City News confirms that Jimenez died over the weekend, and says that the fight on Friday was between him and several suspects, one of whom shot him in the head.
