First off: Everyone was really drunk this past weekend. We're sure a number of you said and did some regrettable things. But taking the cake thus far in Memorial Day weekend rough-housing news is an incident that happened Sunday night/early Monday around 1 a.m. when a taxi driver picked up three (possibly wasted) people at 18th and Valencia Street, only to find himself being choked by one of the passengers from behind.
The three passengers were allegedly fighting, and for some reason one of them started taking it out on the poor cab driver, screaming at him and then choking him from the backseat. At this point, the cab driver pulled over and got out of the cab, which prompted the alleged strangler to get into the driver's seat. He promptly crashed the cab into another vehicle.
The suspect was detained by a bystander and arrested, and the cab driver was taken to SF General complaining of neck pain.
No word on how the other two passengers made it home, or what the hell these three were drinking/smoking.
