Yikes: An unidentified man was stabbed to death in the city's South of Market neighborhood at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The incident occurred around the intersection 8th and Howard. According to SF Appeal, this is San Francisco's 22nd homicide of 2012. "No further information about the victim, motive or any possible suspects was immediately available."

Update: The Chronicle has more: "Kenneth Lion, 42, was sitting on the curb outside the Burger King near the intersection of Howard and Ninth streets at 6:30 p.m. when a 52-year-old man walked up and stabbed Lion in the back." Lion died at the scene. The suspect was later arrested.
