San Franciscans talk about how we usually have to pay for it when we get weather like this. A couple of days of perfect park weather, or beach weather, or strolling-through-the-typically-foggy Sunset weather, are most often followed by days of rain, or socked-in fog, or impenetrable grayness that encourages emotional eating and destroys all springtime diets. Alas, we're being blessed this week with a steady blaze of sun, and from what we can tell we won't be paying for it... at least not right away.
It's supposed to hit 78 today! And we can say that sitting in the back of a tranquil and dark cafe in the Mission yesterday afternoon we looked around and saw people stripping off layers, sweating in T-shirts, all wondering what the hell happened and does anyone have air conditioning?
We encourage all of you who are able to play hooky one afternoon this week (though today looks to be the warmest of the bunch). You only live once. Go to the park. Ride a ferry. Take a bike ride to the ocean. You'll thank us if this turns out to be the last week of summer we see until September.
