Friday Morning Constitutional: San Mateo Bridge Nightmare

  • A Costco shipping truck collided with a stalled pickup on the Westbound San Mateo Bridge this morning, setting off more crashes involving a Highway Patrol cruiser and a fire truck. Making things worse, gas was leaking in to Bay the whole time. [KTVU]

  • Some sort of mediocre superheroes spotted on Muni. Fellow Muni rider in the background is not amused. [MuniDiaries]

  • Changing freeway speed limits from 65 mph to 55 mph could save the planet. Probably won't save a lot of time commuting though. [SFEx]

  • Serial tip jar thief strikes again in the Lower Haight. The man has already been arrest more than 150 times in the past 22 years. [Haighteration]

  • Clive Owen spotted watching 5 a.m. soccer matches at Danny Coyle's. [Facebook via Haighteration]

  • After news that the Bay Guardian might be for sale to the Examiner, the media luminaries weighed in. Jake Swearingen, former web editor for SF Weekly, had this astute insight about the offer price:
