Flour + Water chef Thomas McNaughton and chef de cuisine Michael Gaines' upcoming new joint, Central Kitchen (think Saison-y, but not as expensive or fancy yet still leaning in that general direction), is all the buzz with the rabid local food sect. Wouldn't you like to know why? Of course you would. And with that, the duo will host an 8-course preview tasting menu event on Monday, April 2 and Monday, April 9, at the Dough Room in Flour + Water.
Each night, the pair will "cook table-side for up to 12 guests" while discussing "the concept, food and inspiration behind the new restaurant." The tasting menu will feature a sundry of light bites (i.e., amuse bouches, a term we'd like to see go the way of canapés), which will be paired with wines.
The price? Including wine and gratuity, it will run you $275. But McNaughton and Gaines (especially Gaines, who used to be at Manresa) are worth it. So do it. Seriously.
Each preview dinner will start at 7 pm. They're limited to 12 guests, so reserve your spot now at BrownPaperTickets.
