A multi-car crash on Highway 13 Thursday morning resulted in several car wrecks and the death of an 18-year-old Washington man. The tree crashed down onto southbound traffic near Park Boulevard in Oakland at around 4:20 a.m.

"A 1996 Toyota driven by the 18-year-old man hit the tree before coming to a stop partially in the extreme left lane and on the center median," reports Oakland Tribune. "All of the occupants were outside the Toyota when a 2006 Ford 160 pickup truck then hit the tree and the Toyota and then the 18-year-old man."

The identity of the deceased has yet to be revealed. Traffic reopened at around 7:40 a.m.
