Just two months in to 2012 and this current wave of knife crime is showing no signs of slowing down. The latest incident occurred late last night/early Tuesday morning outside of a bar on Mission Street in the Excelsior District. The victim, a 24-year-old man, came outside around 1:30 a.m. to find a female acquaintance of his getting involved in a fight with an Asian male suspect in his early twenties. When the two men got in to a tussle, the suspect pulled a folding knife and stabbed the victim in the back and torso multiple times.
After making it back in to the club to get help, the victim is now in critical condition at S.F. General Hospital. Witnesses told the cops that the suspect fled the scene South on Mission Street in a black Honda Civic. The suspect is described as an Asian male in his early twenties, with spikey black hair, 5-foot-6, weighing 170 pounds. No arrests have been made at this point, but anyone with any info should call SFPD's anonymous tipline at: (415) 575-4444 or by text message to TIP411.
