So, a piece of antique brick wall adorning the cornice of an East Oakland liquor store crumbled and fell to the sidewalk early this morning, and for lack of any new Occupy shenanigans or anything more worthy to cover, every news outlet in town is all over this story.

This happened around 6 a.m. at 13th Street and International Boulevard, and according to a firefighter dealing with the dramatic scene, "It looks like dry rot or masonry degraded over time and it just way." There were, and we quote, "about 1,000 pounds" of bricks, ladies and gentlemen. The building has been rad-tagged.

Here's some BREAKING video from the scene, courtesy of CBS 5, featuring bricks, and a sidewalk.
