MUSIC: A transcendental evening will be had tonight and tomorrow night at Great American Music Hall, as the infectiously (pun intended) charming and poppy with Cambodian pop band Dengue Fever shares the bill with Secret Chiefs 3, an instrumental rock group led by guitarist/composer Trey Spruance (formerly of Mr. Bungle and Faith No More). (7:30 p.m., Great American Music Hall, 859 O'Farrell Street)

CONCEPTUAL ART: Josh Short, Ever Gold Gallery's current artist-in-residence, launches his current exhibition, Bomb Shelter Radio, which will play host to several live sonic events, including experimental noise transmissions, live metal and hardcore bands, and "subversive FM radio interventions," along with installations of guerrilla radios around the Tenderloin. Be sure to check out the gallery during the day when Short will offer martial art lessons for the neighborhood residents, artists, and musicians through his “Tenderloin Self-Defense Club." (6 to 10 p.m., Ever Gold Gallery, 441 O’Farrell Street)

VISUAL ART: 111 Minna Gallery presents Harum Scarum, a group exhibition featuring 20 collage/mixed media works on hand-built wood panels by San Francisco-based artist, David Ball, along with the work of two other California artists: Jesse Balmer of San Francisco and Katherine Brannock of San Diego. (5 p.m. to late, 111 Minna Gallery, 111 Minna)
