Friend of SFist and all-around fan of large vehicles, Telstar Logistics brings to our attention this vintage photo of three U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers docked at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard way back in August of 1971.

As Telstar's Todd Lappin explains, the ships weren't built in San Francisco, but that big crane you see there was used for overhauling the turrets on battleships. The three ships in question are: the USS Ranger (in dry dock), the USS Coral Sea (on the right), and the USS Hancock (left).
