Gunshots rang out in three separate shooting incidents this Saturday — two in the Bayview and one during a mugging in Bernal Heights. In the first Bayview incident a 20-year-old man was shot on a T-Third Muni platform near Gilman Avenue.
Saturday's second Bayview shooting occurred near Hilltop Park in the neighborhood, where a 21-year-old man was shot while standing with a large group of people just before three in the afternoon. According to a Bay City News report, no one spotted a shooter in either the Muni platform incident or the Hilltop Park shooting, but both victims ended up in San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Both were expected to pull through.
Later, over in Bernal Heights, a 59-year-old man ended up at S.F. General in critical condition after a young suspect tried to rob him near Alemany Boulevard and Banks Street. The victim was shot in the torso when he tried to escape. The suspect is only described as a male in his late teens or early twenties.
No suspects were arrested in either of the incidents, but anyone who has any information in the shootings should give SFPD's anonymous tip line a ring at (415) 575-4444 or via text message to TIP411.
