A 76-year-old woman was attacked in her home on 20th Avenue near Moraga in the Sunset District Thursday night. A second 56-year-old woman delivering food to the elderly woman's home around 9:20 p.m. was also attacked when she walked in on the robbery in progress. The second woman escaped to call for help, but the suspect — an Asian male, according to the Bay City News report — had already left the scene in a light-colored sedan.
The two women were both taken to a hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, a police spokesman told Bay City News. The weapon used by the suspect was not immediately known, but police say he rummaged through drawers at the elderly woman's home.
