Three 19-year-old men were robbed by a shotgun-wielding mugger and an accomplice on the tennis courts at Alta Plaza Park in Pacific Heights last night. According to police, the three victims were hanging out at the Alta Plaza tennis courts when the two suspects showed up brandishing a shotgun and ordered the teens on to the ground.

The two suspects, both 20-something men, made off with a couple of cellphones, wallets and an MP3 player. Adding insult to injury, one of the suspects extinguished his cigarette on one of the victims' hands. No word yet on a possible motive, but the circumstances are obviously a little shady. Neither suspect has been picked up as of this Wednesday, but anyone with any information should contact SFPD's anonymous tipline at (415) 575-4444 or via text message to TIP411.

Update: The Examiner adds some color in that way only the Examiner can, explaining that the three teens were indeed engaged in some funny business prior to the mugging. The three victims (reported by the Ex as 18-year-old males) were smoking marijuana when the suspects approached them and asked for a lighter.
