You'll recall the dramatic incident in which a man was shot and killed near the Occupy Oakland encampment on November 10, after which protesters got really testy with camera crews and journalists believing that this incident was going to do harm to their cause(s). Now we get word that several arrests have been made in the murder of the man identified as 25-year-old Kayode Ola Foster of Oakland. The most recent of these is the arrest of Issac McDaniels, 31, who's being charged with assault and being an accessory to murder.

As the Chron is reporting, McDaniels is a convicted felon who is simultaneoulsy being charged "with kidnapping, oral copulation and robbery for allegedly attacking a woman on 13th Avenue in Oakland several days after the slaying."

Several other men have been arrested and charged with the assault of Foster that day, and the suspected shooter, 20-year-old Norris Terrell of Oakland, was tracked down late last month in Lexington, Kentucky. He was arrested there and is awaiting extradition to California, and he was charged with Foster's murder on December 2.

It remains unclear what, if any, connection Foster had to the Occupy camp.
