Police are on the hunt after an early Friday morning sexual assault and beating in San Francisco's Mission District. Sometime between 3 a.m, and 4 a.m., a man followed a woman walking on 24th Street from South Van Ness to Portreo Avenue. When he finally approached his victim, he demanded money. When she didn't give him any, he took her to another location. That's when things got ugly.

"The man then choked, punched, slapped and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot," reports SF Appeal.

Police describe the suspect as "a 35- to 50-year-old black man with a medium to light complexion standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall" with a "round, clean-shaven face" boasting big eyes, "a round nose and thick lips."

Information about the assault should be sent to the SF Police Department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or via tip-by-text message to TIP411.
