Out west on the SFSU campus, State students protesting fee hikes and budget cuts to higher education staged a student walkout this afternoon. The group, organized by Students for Quality Education, Occupy SFSU and the Black Student Union gathered roughly 300 students for a rally on Malcom X Plaza earlier this morning before marching on to the President's office on the fifth floor of the Administration Building.

The group has since returned to the ground floor lobby of the Administration Building where they are currently staging a sit-in. SFSU President Robert Corrigan is reportedly out of town for a Board of Trustees meeting in Long Beach, but reports say the group intends to continue to occupy the Admin building.
