A modest, some might say small, earthquake rumbled along the Hayward Fault just before 4 a.m. this morning, measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale. Unlike the previous half dozen or so small quakes on the fault in recent weeks, this one was not centered under Berkeley but further south, about two miles north of Fremont.
Here's hoping the old fault is working its tension out in these little dribs and drabs!
