Bernal Heights / Assault and Dog Theft: A gang of female "thugs" walked into a restaurant on the 3300 block of Mission Street near Bernal Heights and assaulted another female around 3:45 p.m. Sunday. They then followed the victim to her car where they assaulted her further and stole her dog out of the car. The dog has not yet been recovered. [Examiner]

Richmond (City) / Vehicular Manslaughter: 17-year-old Pablo Lopez-Jaime was killed when a Nissan Altima driven by a 21-year-old fiend crashed into his BMW early Sunday in Richmond. Lopez-Jaime's car flipped several times before landing in a ditch, and two other passengers in the car were flown to a hospital in critical condition. [Chron]

Oakland / Multiple Shootings: One person was shot in the chest on the 900 block of Adeline in West Oakland Sunday night, and two others were shot in East Oakland earlier in the day, near E. 18th and Rosedale. All are expected to survive. [Tribune]

Oakland / Nurse Attacked: A nurse at Alta Bates Medical Center in Oakland was attacked by a patient Friday and beaten about the head. Another nurse witnessed the attacker jump back into bed after the attack. Nurses at the facility are now filing a workplace safety complaint. [KCBS]

Morgan Hill / Drive-By Shooting: In the mostly quiet burb of Morgan Hill, south of San Jose, a drive-by shooting Saturday night left two injured and a 14-year-old girl dead. SWAT team member surrounded an apartment complex where suspects were believed to be hiding, and five were arrested. It's the first homicide in Morgan Hill since 2009. [AP/Examiner]
