Citywide / Multiple Arrests: SFPD chief Greg Suhr conducted a major sweep Wednesday, rounding up and putting cuffs on 60 suspects wanted for 47 felonies and 13 misdemeanors, in the span of 10 hours. All ten police stations participated, as did U.S. Marshals and state parole officers. Suhr says he'll continue to conduct such operations in order to keep violent offenders and parolees off the streets. We suppose this is meant to put our minds at rest given the hundreds upon hundreds of parolees being released from CA prisons as we speak. [BCN/Appeal]
Inner Richmond / Stabbing: A 27-year-old man was stabbed twice in the back with an unknown object while he was standing next to his car yesterday around 4 p.m. This was on the 200 block of 4th Ave. No apparent motive is known, and the victim's injuries are not life-threatening. [BCN/Appeal]
Lake Merced / Stalker Tenant: A maintenance worker in an apartment building on the 600 block of John Muir says that a tenant in the building, whom he had sex with once, has sent him over 100 text messages including sexually explicit photos. The woman had called police to claim the man was harassing her, but she had no proof of this. [Examiner]
Richmond (City) / Suicide: A 22-year-old man found hanged from a tree behind an elementary school last weekend, on the Ohlone Greenway in Richmond, committed suicide, say police. Some in the community had feared this was a lynching. The dead man, who was Latino, suffered from depression and schizophrenia. [Tribune]
San Jose / Occupy Camper Arrests: Police conducted an early morning raid around 3 a.m. today and arrested 8 people who were part of the Occupy San Jose encampment near City Hall. [Examiner]
