San Francisco-based mosaic artist Jason Mecier has gained some critical attention for clever, timely portraits of celebrities like this one of Taylor Lautner made out of Red Vines; and this one of Rosie O'Donnell made from cookies, chocolate, potato chips, and candy. One of his latest is a portrait of Snoop Dogg made out of -- what else? -- weed.

The work, composed of joints, leaves, green buds, stems, matchsticks, and plugs of hash is valued at $1,500 and its unclear if it's sold yet. (The weed alone, we would guess, could be worth close to that, assuming there's actual weed in all those joints.) It's will be on view in November at the La Luz de Jesus gallery in L.A., as part of their 25th anniversary show.
