From Santa Clara County, the medical examiner's office reports that Shareef Allman, the gunman who opened fire on his coworkers at the Lehigh Cement Plant before leading authorities on a peninsula manhunt, died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Last week, the Santa Clara Sheriff's office originally reported Allman had been shot and killed by shot and killed by Sheriff's deputies.

After attempting to carjack a woman in an HP employee parking lot near the cement plant, Allman fled. Authorities eventually found him the following morning hiding behind a parked car in Sunnyvale. The Sheriff's deputies fired on Allman when they saw he was carrying a gun. The Santa Clara County Coroner explained Allman received multiple wounds, but the fatal one appeared to be a self-inflicted shot to the head.
