The manhunt continues for the fourth straight week for murder suspect Aaron Bassler, who allegedly shot and killed a Fort Bragg city councilman on August 27 in the woods outside of town. New surveillance footage shows Bassler carrying a high-caliber rifle, like the one used in the murder, and vandalizing a cabin. Bassler, whose family says he suffers from schizophrenia and is not medicated, had been living in a cabin on private land when city councilman Jere Melo and another man hiked in to investigate. Bassler shot at both men, killing Melo, while the other man escaped unharmed.
