The Giants released their tentative schedule for the 2012 baseball season this morning and while we don't want to jinx the tiny spark of hope this current series against the Padres has given us, next season already has something to look forward to. The diehard team travelers will want to go ahead and start booking flights to Arizona for the team's opening day game against the Diamondbacks on Friday, April 6th. The home opener at AT&T Park a week later on April 13th kicks off a three game matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates, followed by another three games against the Phillies.
Other notable matchups in the 2012 schedule: The Transbay series goes down May 18-20 in AT&T Park and over in Oakland from June 22-24th, bookending a series against World Series failures the Texas Rangers in San Francisco from June 8-10. Also, if your Dad is a Giants fan living in Pacific Northwest exile, you're in luck: the Giants take on the Seattle Mariners up North for Father's Day Interleague play on June 17th.
