Fifteen years ago today, Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas. His murder remains steeped in questions and controversy. However, while the Oakland artist was alive, he tossed off the following quote regarding a police brutality lawsuit he filed against the Oakland Police Department.
"If I win and get the money, then the Oakland Police department is going to buy a boys' home, me a house, my family a house, and a Stop Police Brutality Center."
In October 1991, which some of you might recall, he filed a $10 million civil suit against the OPD, claiming that they brutally beat him for jaywalking. The case was eventually settled for $42,000.
