If your ride on the Orange & Black rollercoaster is making you ill, consider the bounty our friends to the east have on offer: the Oakland-centric film Moneyball premieres at The Paramount Theatre on September 19th; the Oakland A's are doing pretty well, with a scant four players on the DL (they must play with Nerf balls & bats); and then there's this shirt.
Designed by the excellent John Sherlock Hersey, the hyper-local graphic pays homage to a stylishly hirsute closer of a bygone era, Rollie Fingers. Proving that there's little new under the sun, Fingers grew the 'stache on a bet, fomenting a trend that led to "mustache days" at the stadium.
To quote the copy on Oaklandish's site, "This tee is our offering to Fingers, the A's, and everyone with the flair and dedication it takes to be a real closer. "
Or you could just get one of Lincecum's shirts.
